Dr. Guleria, director of AIIMS, has been continuously coming out with information related to Corona virus for the last few days. He said on 8 May, 'Corona virus has not yet reached its peak in the country. Based on the increasing number of new cases daily, it seems that this global disaster will reach its peak in June and July. He also said, "With the passage of time, it can be said that what effect the lockdown will have on the corona virus." Earlier on April 24, he had said that most of the people associated with Kovid-19 and his family are coming to the hospital late for fear of slander. Due to this, the rate of death and patients is increasing. According to him, people are reaching the hospital only when there is a lot of difficulty in breathing. He said that in most cases the disease can be treated. 80 per cent of the patients need only supportive care. At the same time, 20 percent needs more attention and 5 percent needs ventilator.

एम्स के निदेशक डॉ. गुलेरिया पिछले कुछ दिनों से लगातार कोरोना वायरस से संबंधित जानाकारियों के साथ सामने आ रहे हैं. उन्होंने 8 मई को कहा था, 'अभी देश में कोरोना वायरस अपने चरम पर नहीं पहुंचा है. नए मामलों की रोज बढ़ती संख्या के आधार पर ऐसा लगता है कि देश में ये वैश्विक आपदा जून और जुलाई में अपने पीक पर पहुंचेगी.' साथ ही उन्होंने कहा था, 'समय बीतने के साथ ही यह कहा जा सकेगा कि लॉकडाउन का कोरोना वायरस पर क्या प्रभाव होगा.' इससे पहले 24 अप्रैल को उन्होंने कहा था कि कोविड-19 के मरीज और उनके परिवार से जुड़े ज्यादातर लोग बदनामी के डर से देरी से अस्पताल आ रहे हैं. इससे मृत्यु और रोगियों की दर बढ़ रही है. उनके मुताबिक, लोग सांस लेने में बहुत परेशानी होने पर ही अस्पताल पहुंच रहे हैं. उनका कहना था कि ज्यादातर मामलों में बीमारी का इलाज किया जा सकता है. मरीजों में 80 फीसदी को केवल सपोर्टिव केयर की दरकार होती है. वहीं, 20 फीसदी पर ज्यादा ध्यान देने और 5 फीसदी को वेंटिलेटर की जरूरत पड़ती है.
